The Problem We Saw
As the cannabis and hemp industries expanded across the United States, a quiet crisis was building: processors were accumulating mountains of spent biomass — the plant material left after cannabinoid extraction. State regulations required secure storage of this material, creating massive ongoing costs with zero return on investment.
What processors saw as a liability, we saw as an opportunity. This spent biomass is extraordinarily rich in protein, fiber, omega fatty acids, essential minerals, and vitamins. It is, in many ways, more nutritionally complete than the feeds the equine industry had been using for decades.
